Kosha Dillz Announces “You Canned Do It” Midwest Tour and Food Drive in partnership with Burnsville CommonPlace

Los Angeles, CA – November 8, 2011 – Giving thanks for a successful year, international DIY rapper on the come-up Kosha Dillz is hitting the road for one last jaunt that’s equal parts tour and food drive. Kosha is headlining the “You Canned Do It” tour, rocking shows with friends from Minneapolis (w/ Crunchy Kids) to Rockford ( w/ Black Lung), and hitting 7 Midwest cities in 7 days, starting in West Hollywood’s famed Viper Room. Show attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate. Kosha will drop the donations off at inner city food banks along the way, with one large drop-off confirmed for Burnsville, MN on thanksgiving, where he will volunteer his time distributing food for the holiday in partnership with www.Burnsville.OurCommonPlace.com

ok..so check it out…i head out to leeds..crazy night . i get up with Jed 104,a dj who saw me play with Raekwon when i bum rushed his show. His wife and friend greet me at this boogie club called Oceana and eventually we head out to to his pad in York. His wife drives on the wrong side of the road, but I get used to it, and realize this is York, not New York. Jed proceeds to look back and speak to me, and I keep getting nervous.

Next day we head to london and Im in trafalgar square spitting game to the ladies and all. I get a free bus pass and i’m all jolly. People use words like Brilliant and Proper. I head to the top of the trafalgar hotel where Jed is Dj’ing and realize that I will not make it to Shabbat, nor a meeting, so I decide to

We hook up…with Jed 104 and the homie Andy Freshney and good ol’ Idun (geoffrey) who basically rip on each other all night smoke mixed salads and crash a late night spot for food. Mind you. the late night food spots are funny.
it was here where I decided to be kosher. the guy says we don’t have vegetarian burger. i decided to say i’m vegetarian and he gets me this thing that is like “ehh” but I eat it anyway and Im so exhausted we proceed to kick raps at freshney’s. I can’t believe I ate that. it was like the grease trucks in new brunswick but with the possibility of foreign disease. London food is crap.

We are sorta like the movie swingers but in london and the boys are from York. The only deal is one of us is a Jewish Rapper, the other a married christian DJ with a daughter, and two single london-ites who, in september, head the entire street wear division of Stussy and Supreme for all of Europe.

SO thats how I got laced in all this fresh gear mind you, which happened the day later. We eat veggie stuff, and i head into the office of Stussy. ALife, Supreme and all of it. They’re al different desks. Its like christmas! Im not sure what christmas is , but I bet its what its like. (like Chanukah!)

So i get to pick whatever I want from this top shelf. Also an Alife store goes out of business and has all this stock left over so it gets to be on our feet. Why thank you fresh! in the name of awesomeness i buy a train ride which is just expensive as my flight, and enjoy the hell out of it.

Now I hit Bolton last night and managed to fall in love with a 18 year old girl name kaylee who cant pronounce anything I may understand (8 is ehhh and 0 is cerooohh) followed by crashing at the homie Mauri the chef’s house in manchester. In turn a 39 year old woman comes over who has a 13 year old kid, and i proceed to tease my life since its late and flirt with her, all to find out she has a kid and how old she is the next day. SO basically the age jump was 10 younger to over 10 older.

sheesh. I was given a a ride to my gig in a utilities van today and then rapped, and was invited back for a festival in aug 26-30. in London called Limmud London.

my life does not suck.. tomorrow i play with snoop dogg in amsterdam.

we played with everyone from kevin Devine and Trevor hall, 30 seconds to Mars to The Used, Cage the Elephant, Tim Williams and Travis Mccoy of gym Class Heroes and most importantly; every night with Dub Trio and Matisyahu ( with Aaron Dugan and Rob Marscher)

You have not experienced tour till you work with the TM who has the mobile office, the merch people who have their own companies in just selling merch, 20 people crews, 4 pm load ins, two tour buses, and you’re tailing them. Its definitley the way to shoot up and aim if you wanna play big.

i pulled over…today and next thing you know i woke up later..better off than crashing my car…:) thanksgiving!! im alive!

ps. San diego i rapped about ikea and also recorded with Kahle and gavin. i passed out on the couch and almost missed my flight. I also met the homies from the band Transfer that I played with in El Paso.

I headed over to a port;and show on my last day of the fun in the sun tour with akream as we ust chatted up and tried to figure out where our electronics were. W erealized we mightve been jacked when we were in bend oregon…maybe Portland the night before by all the tweakers.
After runing around in Bend and chopping it up with the homie Reggie before we hit the road…I linked up with a long time contact leah hunter of black sheep publicity and f1 of Animal Farm, who managed to squeeze…me in fora freestyle at a heat waved portland.

ps they have no air conditioning here.

When Rza came thru, I basically snuck around back and chopped it up with security guards who rocked a tight ship at the Hawthorne Theatre. While i spoke MMA and Ful Contact fighting with bouncers and talked about my “calliflower ear,” RZA eventually came thru… and I met DJ Skane and tons of WU Affilliates from brooklyn ZU who I cannot really remember honestly, but did manage to get some time to chop with Rza. Basicaly I Told him what I was doing and told him about the duck down deal i won, and spoke on Killah Priest and Reverend Burke and his venture with System of a Down.
We met each other at BET and at a LA festival before.
i showed him “freestyle vs Written” with c rayz walz…and I showed him Beverly Dillz, my newest production with Belief.
He said…ok…”lets get some right now”

and I freestyle for him and Ol Dirty bastards son Boy Jones…you know how I do!!

While the crowd was thin and it seemed like no one was in arush to get on stage…i asked Rza at the right time if I can get busy.he said “go have fun.” Bong.

I went out with Dj Skane and skane started scratchin in an dropping funky beats and I started freestyling off the top for a live crowd to tell them what I was repping.

just before that I was struggling to get on stage. Just before that I was struggling to get in the show for free! Just to think..my last show was the day before in front of 10 people…tonight was a few hundred.

SOoo…After the show and selling cds. and doing all that stuff…
I laced zig-zag a zigala with a kosha dillz shit (new one–)
and was told I put on an impressive impromptu set, and DJ said bring your set tomorrow…

excuse me??? work on a set?

…And at that point they basically said come thru to the rest of these shows..and here I am…and honestly I would be on some more dates but have to go home fora lil bit!!

Because I got to “handle my handle” back home.

Once I got the word, I went back to club calabash where I performed Monday night and got me some briskiet and rapped witha live band. Just the week before Im on stage with Matisyahu in front of 10,000 and now in front of 10 …and now infront of hundreds of people again with the Rza, the founder and legend of this stuff.

it goes to show you..if you keep showing up…it works out…now im at sadies crib in seattle with her BF from Nepal and we are all katman-dooing it..literally. Today is bellingham and Ill keep you posted on that happenings…Seattle was smash city and well..Boy jones makes me wanta million dollars..haha
